What's your passion?
Health, fitness, writing, sharing my story, inspiring others, motivating others, spreading hope.
What makes you happiest?
God, my family, sharing hope, knowing I've helped someone else and made a difference in their life.
What do you do to feel confident and embrace your body?
I exercise, eat healthy, speak positively, accept my body for what is has done and can do, daily affirmations, daily reminders that my body is a gift.
What does "Never Alone" mean to you?
It means that I am not alone in my journey. I felt that way from 2013 until 2019 - that's when I connected with The Breasties and attended Camp Breastie in 2019. Never Alone means that I truly do not have to go through the really hard things on my own, that there is a community of incredible women who share a common bond, and they 'get it.' No matter how different our experiences might be - they just get it.
I really love the Leslie bra - it's so soft and feels comfortable on my foobs. I also really like the Paige Bra because it was the first bra after my mastectomy where I felt like my body was mine again.
What does being part of The Agency mean to you?
It means that I can share the gift of intimacy, feeling sexy, and owning our skin with other women - the feeling of being sexy and confident in our skin can be hard to come back from after experiencing the loss of what makes us feel like a woman. Being a part of The AnaOno Agency means that I have the opportunity to help other women get that feeling back with products that are designed specifically for us.
If you were to give advice to someone diagnosed with breast cancer or having a preventative surgery, what would you say?
I am a previvor - speaking to someone having preventative surgery, I would tell them to take it one day at a time. That it is okay to ask all of the questions as many times as they need too, even if they feel like a broken record. I would tell them it's okay to talk to multiple doctors and interview them to be sure they are making the best decision for their needs, not anyone else's. I would tell them it's their body, their choice. And that I am so proud of them for making a really, really hard decision. Because I understand the emotional impact that decision has caused. I would let them know that I get it and that they are not alone in their journey.
What's your guilty pleasure?
My guilty pleasure... ooo... it would be... caramel lattes or going to Target or Hobby Lobby without my kids!
