    The (re)Issue

We know finding a bra after breast surgery can be overwhelming. That's why we do what we do. When it comes to fit, the needs for those of us who've had a mastectomy, reconstruction, radiation, lumpectomy, or other breast surgeries are very different than the standard underwire and molded cups often found in most bras.

When it comes to finding a comfortable bra, especially post-surgery or after a mastectomy, we are all about softness. But finding a super-soft bra feels next to impossible with all the scratchy lace and stiff padding out there in the lingerie department. But what makes one post-mastectomy bra style soft versus other wire free bra styles that are ridiculously, outrageously, and HEAVENLYsoft?

Dana Donofree is joined by Dr. Brannon Claytor to answer your questions about the ASPS news that some surgeries are being delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Claytor is the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Main Line Heath and owner of his private practice, Claytor/Noone Plastic Surgery.

Train like an angel? Nah. Train like a previvor. If you've tested positive for a genetic mutation (like the BRCA gene), and have decided to take the brave step of getting a preventative double mastectomy, we see you girl! That was NOT an easy choice, but you are taking life by the reins and becoming your own superhero. As far as we're concerned, you're badass AF.
Figuring out what kind of bra you should invest your hard earned money in after your mastectomy can sometimes feel like the huge obstacle in feeling like yourself again. If you're frustrated or confused about what you should be looking for in a post-mastectomy recovery bra, we can help you! Follow along for the key identifiers to look for while shopping for the perfect post-mastectomy bralette.

Often times we are not exactly thrilled with the initial results from our reconstruction surgeries, so when we are physically, mentally and medically ready, some of us choose to undergo a breast revision surgery. If and when you decide to undergo a breast revision surgery, you deserve just as much comfort, support, and love as you did through your previous surgeries, whether they were 6 months, 5 years or 10 years ago.

Here at AnaOno, we have the perfect bras for every single stage of treatment and recovery you go through, and the radiation phase is no exception. Get to know a few of our favorite ultra-soft, luxurious styles designed specifically for you and your needs in mind.

No matter if you are best friends with your sister, or have a complex, layered relationship, it can be scary and emotional when it comes to caring for them through a genetic mutation diagnosis or a breast cancer diagnosis.  Whether she is having a mastectomy, breast reconstruction, explant or revision surgery follow along for what to say, do and give to your sister in need.

We know how scary and overwhelming the preparation for your breast cancer surgery is, and we are always here to help you, and to give you a few tips we have picked up along the way. When understanding surgery options and the risks associated with a mastectomy, you don’t necessarily expect implants to be one of them. This morning, Allergan, a leading manufacturer of breast implants, announced they are voluntarily recalling their textured breast implants from future use in breast surgeries, including breast augmentation and reconstruction.

We know that sometimes, it may feel that our doctors don’t always get it. Especially how we may feel after leaving their office. This is not the case with Dr. Jonathan Bank, a plastic surgeon who’s on a mission to help those of us with mastectomies embrace our scars and newly reconstructed breasts (aka (f)oobs) with pride & confidence.  And we just had to share it with you!
