2. “Girl on Fire” by Alicia Keys (2012)

Alicia’s song describes a girl that is a go getter kind of person, she is a “flame.” Alicia confirms that this “girl” is human but what sets her apart from others is her ability to overcome obstacles that life throws at her and her desire to stay motivated. Life will throw obstacles at you and sometimes it seems impossible to overcome, but you can be reminded to keep fighting hard while listening to this song.

Iconic lyrics: “She’s living in a world and it’s on fire, filled with catastrophe, but she knows she can fly away.”

3. “Survivor” by Destiny’s Child (2001)

Beyonce was inspired to write Survivor after she received negative comments in the media and decided to turn the negative into a powerful song to show that nothing will bring her down. Being able to receive negative news and try your best to make the most of the moment and to never give up on hope or strength will help you in more ways than you will know.

Iconic lyrics: “I’m a survivor, I’m not gon’ give up, I’m not gon’ stop, oh I’m gon’ work harder."

4. “Scars to Your Beautiful” by Alessia Cara (2015)

Alessia’s “Scars to your Beautiful” sends a message of self-acceptance that women face every day, due to the beauty standards that are in the world. Everyone has scars, everyone has insecurities, everyone has that one thing about themselves that they wish they could change. We've all been there and we all need a little reminder that you are beautiful.

Iconic lyrics: “There’s a hope that’s waiting for you in the dark, you should know you’re beautiful just the way you are”

5. “Confident” by Demi Lovato (2015)

Demi’s song “Confident” is about finding self-love and being confident in your own skin. Being confident and finding confidence is hard and it is something that many women struggle with everyday. Here at AnaOno we like to embrace ourselves and help others feel comfortable enough to embrace themselves as well. Dealing with a new body is a physical and mental struggle that we all go through. You may not feel right in your own skin because you feel that your body has changed. Just remember all that your body has been through, and how strong you have been. Building up confidence will not happen over night, but over time you will start to feel a sense of normalcy, not in the sense that you got your body back, but you will begin to embrace and accept the changes within your body and learn how to grow your confidence from there. What better way to bring your confidence back, than listen to this absolutely fierce song by Demi Lovato!

Iconic lyrics: “I used to hold my freak back, now I’m letting go”
