How to use your light weight breast forms in pocketed AnaOno Bra Collections
After a unilateral or bilateral mastectomy, it can be challenging to find breast forms that work for you. Traditional prosthesis are not an option for everyone due to the expense and the weight. Enter, AnaOno F(oo)Bs, an affordable and lightweight alternative.
Mastectomy Bra Inserts: Prosthesis vs. F(oo)Bs®
Most breast prostheses are made with silicone. While this material can feel very authentic compared to a natural breast, it can also feel somewhat heavy or dense, especially if you’re wearing a prosthesis all day. Because of this, some choose to use a silicone breast insert only for certain occasions or for wearing a few hours at a time.
F(oo)Bs®, on the other hand, offer a much more comfortable alternative. These foam bra inserts are made from extremely lightweight material. In fact, each one weighs less than one ounce. The foam material is bouncy and flexible, so it never weighs you down.
Because F(oo)Bs® don’t have as much density as silicone, they don’t have a realistic feel. However, they have a natural appearance thanks to a molded cup shape that’s made for a specific side of the body (you can order left, right or both). These foam bra inserts create a seamless appearance when worn under most clothes.
Using F(oo)Bs® with Pocketed Bras
Both prostheses and F(oo)Bs® have their benefits for those who are recovering from single or double mastectomies. The great news is that you don’t have to choose between these options. Instead, you can use versatile pocketed bras that allow you to switch out your bra pad inserts day to day.
Pocketed bras come in a wide variety of styles, so it’s easy to wear your F(oo)Bs™ with just about any type of bra. You can pair them with a soft bralette to create extra shape or insert them into a sports bra for wear while working out. F(oo)Bs™ also look natural and sexy when paired with pocketed lingerie bras, giving you an added boost of confidence.
Inserting F(oo)Bs™ can be tricky at first, but we're here to help. Because they're made of foam, you can bend, twist, and squish them without worrying about damaging them.
To insert your F(oo)Bs® follow these steps:
1. Locate the pocket on your bra and remove the included modesty pads if your bra came with them.
2. Fold the F(oo)B in half.
3. Insert into the bra pocket ensuring that the "tail" of the F(oo)B is the last part to be inserted. (Don't be afraid to really manipulate the F(oo)b during this part - it will pop back to its original shape).
4. Once the F(oo)B has been inserted into the pocket, adjust it to make sure it's in position based on your personal preference.
