Honoring Every Story: AnaOno x Our Cancer Stories

At AnaOno, everything we do begins with listening—to our community, to lived experiences, and to the deeply personal journeys that shape how we see our bodies and ourselves. That’s why partnering with Our Cancer Stories feels so aligned with who we are and what we stand for.

Who is Our Cancer Stories?

Our Cancer Stories is a platform dedicated to sharing the real, raw, and deeply human experiences of people impacted by cancer. Through personal narratives and educational resources, they create space for connection, understanding, and support.

Each story is different—but together, they remind us of something powerful: no one is alone in this experience.

AnaOno x Our Cancer Stories

At AnaOno, we know that healing is not just physical—it’s emotional, too. After diagnosis, treatment, or surgery, many women find themselves navigating fear, uncertainty, and a new relationship with their bodies.

That’s where storytelling becomes essential.

Our Cancer Stories creates a space where those emotions can be shared openly—where women can see themselves reflected in others, and feel validated in what they’re going through. It mirrors what we strive to do through our designs: to support women in rediscovering comfort, confidence, and identity in their bodies.

Together, this partnership is about more than awareness—it’s about connection, visibility, and healing through shared experience.

The Reality of a Diagnosis

Every story begins differently, but so many share a moment that changes everything.

For N., that moment came during a routine appointment:

“When I got the mammogram, the tech was suddenly asking all sorts of extra questions and taking more pictures… The questions set off alarm bells.”

And then, the words no one expects:

“The doctor simply said to me, ‘It’s cancer my dear.’”

For others, the diagnosis brings an overwhelming wave of emotion all at once.

Debora shared:

“When I first heard the news, I felt anger, fear, and sadness all at once. I was isolated, powerless, and vulnerable.”

Jess described a similar experience:

“Fear, sadness and grief struck me. I was frightened, nervous and worried. I felt very isolated and lonely as well.”

Even after treatment, the emotional weight doesn’t simply disappear. Bridgette, now a stage 3 survivor, shared:

“Today, I'm a survivor of stage 3 breast cancer… Still, the fear of cancer returning never goes away.”

These moments are real. They’re heavy. And they’re important to acknowledge—because they’re part of the story.

Finding Strength, One Step at a Time

But within each story, there’s also resilience. Growth. A shift toward hope.

N. reminds us:

“Don’t allow cancer to be the only definitive aspect of you — it is a small chapter of our lives. Laugh, scream, cry — you are allowed to mourn who you were before cancer, but you can also look forward to your new chapters post-treatments.”

Debora reflects on learning to hold both grief and optimism:

“While I’m still sad and fearful like before, I also feel optimistic and hopeful. One day at a time, try and push out the negative with something positive no matter how little.”

Bridgette offers encouragement rooted in mindset and care:

“Try to remain positive and believe that you have been cured… Work hard to establish a healthy lifestyle that works for you.”

And for Jess, hope is found in looking ahead:

“Looking ahead, I've set plans for the next two years… My biggest dream is to see my daughter graduate from college.”

These are the moments that remind us—life continues. Dreams continue. Identity continues to evolve.

Supporting the Experience—Together

Whether it’s through a shared story or a thoughtfully designed piece, support can take many forms.

At AnaOno, our mission has always been to meet women where they are—to create pieces that honor their bodies as they are today, and help them feel comfortable, confident, and seen.

Through our collaboration with Our Cancer Stories, we hope to extend that support even further—creating space not just for physical comfort, but for emotional connection, too.

A Community That Holds You

If there’s one thing we believe deeply, it’s this: your story matters.

And when it’s shared, it has the power to help someone else feel less alone.
